This community-centered boathouse emphasizes the user's interaction with the landscape, as well as providing a welcoming space for the dichotomous users of the community boathouse and of the professional rowing equipment. The two buildings are embedded into the landscape with the roofs becoming an extension of the ground that the users can occupy. The elevational changes and design of the facade achieve different levels of visibility, providing users with successful viewpoints that capture the best views of the site. Finally, the separation of the community building and the professional boat storage serves as a way to communicate access and distinguish paths of circulation.
