“DISCRETIONARY SCAPES”

The boathouse, located in Bandemer Park, Ann Arbor, supports a diverse spectrum of mobilities from solid land to animated water. The proposed project therefore embraces and expresses the affectual gradients of a new park-scape, encompassing the activities while presenting an interface for malleable usage. Bridging existing paths of circulation, the experience is truly discretionary yet inviting.

Within the building, the micro-climates render a gradated arrangement of spaces, where different zones exhibit unique temperamental environments. The architecture itself serves as a mediator between aquatic states, to engage is to find the jolly medium.
