“THE MEANDERING PARK”

Located along the Huron River, this new boat house synthesizes the natural landscape and the built environment. With the new structure seemingly emerging from the ground and pushing the landscape up with it, none of the parks surface is taken away. This allows the local rowing teams to have a private space to come together to practice and learn without disrupting the rest of the park or the general public who come for a walk, a swim, or a picnic with friends. The unique geometry was a created by examining the site and tracing different paths of movement, later revealing an interesting relationship between above and bellow ground spaces.
