“A HOME TO GET LOST IN”

This project explored qualities of Casa Poli by architect duo Pezo Von Elrichshausen to create a suburban home that behaves like a maze. The initial abstractions of volumetric decomposition, discovery, and user involvement led to a design that requires the inhabitant to actively participate in the understanding of spacial relationships within the home.

Like a maze or a puzzle, the experience of the home becomes habitual only after repeated use. The formal arrangement of spaces mimics the experiental breakdown, shifting from a monolithic front facade to a dynamic rear facade.
