"HOUSE OF THIRDS"
The House of Thirds, designed for deaf residents, focuses on how walls can be reconceptualized through sightlines. Bookcases are implemented as storage, as well as a way to open sightlines and blur the lines between spaces throughout the structure. Zones form a large sleeping/quiet area, a medium socializing area, and a small open area. On the upper level, the zones repeat with a closed-off area and an open space. The form of the building slips down into the lower level through the curves and roof lines, blurring the edges of where space begins and ends. The House of Thirds aims to open up what is traditionally a closed, private space, into a new and inclusive way of living.
